Coasteering - Half Day Tour
Coasteering is a relatively new adventure activity that involves low level traversing of coastal terrain, or as the Mad Ferret would put it, "You will be scrambling over rocks, swimming in the sea, spinning in whirlpools, exploring caves, climbing cliffs and then jumping off them!". Coasteering is simply the most exhilarating way to see the coastline. If you have a keen sense of adventure and are looking for a real adrenaline rush then a Mad Ferret Coasteering Adventure is definitely for you!
What happens on the day?
Each day our instructors assess the sea conditions in order to choose a location that will ensure the most fun with the maximum safety. You will be met at our Coasteering HQ near Fistral beach and issued with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and safety helmets and given a detailed safety instruction regarding the sea conditions, the risks involved in Coasteering and how to jump correctly. Once the boring, (but very necessary) parts are out of the way it's time for the fun to begin!! Please allow approximately 4 hours to complete the tour.
What's Included?
We provide you with all the necessary equipment including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and safety helmets and each group will be accompanied by a minimum of two professionally qualified guides. We have changing rooms, (with a secure place to leave valuables), an outdoor shower and a sun deck where you can relax after your tour. Refreshments are also available on site.
What Do I Need?
You mean apart from nerves of steel?! That's simple, all you need to bring along is your towel, swim wear and some protective footwear, (eg, an old pair of trainers). Our Coasteering Tours involve some sea swimming so it is important that you are able to swim at least 50 metres without stopping, (two lengths of a normal pool).
Safety
All our professional Coasteering guides are fully qualified NaRS Beach Lifeguards with many years experience patrolling Newquay's fine beaches and surfing, swimming and scrambling around Newquay's stunning coastline. We know the best locations and routes that will offer the most fun with the maximum safety. At Mad Ferret we take safety very seriously and only use equipment of the highest standards and quality.
